Every film reel transfer starts with a professional cleaning, then each reel is hand processed on an organic LED scanner for the highest possible image quality. Your finished files can be saved as MP4, MOV, or AVI — ready for editing, sharing, or archiving. We deliver your digital files on a USB drive or DVD, whichever you prefer.
We only charge for usable content. That means you'll never pay for leaders, blank footage, or the space between splices. Once your movie film transfer is complete, your original reels are returned to you.
Wondering if your reels qualify? We work with the most common home movie film formats, including 8mm, Super 8mm, and 16mm. Not sure what you have? Bring them in — we're happy to take a look and walk you through the process. Our film-to-digital transfer service is a great way to preserve decades of family history before those reels deteriorate further.

Not sure what format your reels are?
No problem — just bring them in and we'll identify them for you at no charge. Most home movie reels from the 1950s through the 1980s are Super 8mm or 8mm, while 16mm was common for school, church, and commercial use. If you've inherited a collection and aren't sure where to start, our archiving team is happy to help you sort through it and put together a plan. We've seen it all, and we love bringing old home movies back to life.
A few things to keep in mind before you drop off your reels: handle them by the edges only, store them in a cool, dry place until your appointment, and don't attempt to run them through an old projector — aging film is fragile and a stuck or broken reel can cause permanent damage. The sooner you bring them in for transfer, the better your results will be. Film degrades over time, and older reels are especially vulnerable to color fading, brittleness, and vinegar syndrome.
